Bluff Mountain Fire Tower Sevierville, Tennessee.

Last Wednesday, my boyfriend took me to this very large, very tall, fire tower that sits on the top of a mountain in Sevierville. That shit was scary. First of all, you're already at the very top of a mountain, but then you have to climb 40 feet up in the air on a tower with some old wooden steps that seems like its going to fall apart at any moment. Now normally heights don't bother me; you can put me on the top of a mountain, or a roller coaster, any day and I'm fine. Unless that day happens to be windy as hell; like it was Wednesday. Being on the top of a 40 foot fire tower on the top of a mountain is a little scary to begin with, but add some category 4 hurricane winds to the mix and it makes it ten times worse.

I had never been here before, my boyfriend (hi, if you're reading this) had been telling me about this place that had an incredible view of the mountains and the city. Of course, I'm obsessed with mountains to begin with, especially when there's a good view. So we made it a date day.

We originally planned to have a little picnic up there, you know be all cute, get a 360 degree view of the Great Smoky Mountains, and eat... That didn't go as planned. We made it all the way to the top of the tower for a total of 3 minutes before the wind decided to go absolutely crazy. So we quickly climbed back down (which was 10 times scarier than going up). Although we didn't stay at the top of the fire tower, we decided to stay at the top of the mountain, relax, and enjoy the view. Great view, less terrifying. Not only did he take me to see a gorgeous view of the mountains, we played putt-putt in Pigeon Forge (yes, he lost lol), played with some adorable baby goats, and finished the day with dinner at my favorite Italian restaurant.

Although our cute date idea didn't go as planned, we still had an amazing time and promised to go back when it wasn't quite as windy.
